Welcome to Hall's Tropicana Restaurant! In 1901, James M. Hall, Sr. started Halls as a drug store on the Northeast corner of Fifth and Castle Streets. The store was started in a framed building with living quarters upstairs. The business was moved to the present location in 1926 with the total store being what are now the kitchen and the "back line". At this time, Mr. Hall added a counter area in the drug store and began selling food. The newer section of the building, which is now the food service area, was built in 1954. The drug store remained open until 1994 at which time Hall's became solely a restaurant.Alexander Hall, the grandson of James M. Hall, Sr., currently owns the building and the current owners of the restaurant are Jussara Bastos and her husband, Lewis Martin. Hall's still keeps with the old tradition of serving good Southern food prepared fresh daily.
