LENOIR, N.C. — Interested in getting greener?

The Asheville Citizen-Times reports that Appalachian State University and Google will co-sponsor a free forum Friday on “Re-powering Our Region: Building Profit by Being Green.” The forum will be held at the Broyhill Civic Center in Lenoir.

The keynote speaker will be Harry Wingo, policy counsel in Google’s Washington office, who focuses on cybersecurity, energy and other issues.

The forum also will feature discussions of responsible energy use, local and global perspectives on the green economy, the area’s existing green businesses and resources for education and economic development.
