Marine prepares to spend his holiday helping the homeless

Cpl. Matthew Purkey has 96 hours of leave over the Thanksgiving holiday. He wants to sell those hours for $25 each.Purkey, who lives near Hampstead and commutes to Camp Lejeune, hopes to raise $2,400 for the homeless. He proposes to spend the hours he “sells” with homeless people in Wilmington.
