Ground breaking begins for Brunswick County water tank

One million gallons of water will soon be flowing to Brunswick County residents. Friday, Brunswick Regional Water and Sewer H2Go held its ceremonial ground breaking on a one million gallon elevated water storage tank off of Highway 17 in Leland.

The project will meet state regulations by providing a half-day supply of elevated water available to county residents at all times.

H2Go director Bob Jones said, “It will provide adequate water pressure throughout our system to prevent low pressures during the summer months, which we experienced over the past several years. It also provides the fire flow that’s required by the state, and it will also help reduce insurance rates in the future.”

The 200 foot tower is expected to be complete by June of next year.

As an added bonus, H2Go hopes cell phone providers will want to install antennas on the tower to allow for better coverage in the area.
