Beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Video

Body

It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas – sort of. Though the weather doesn’t quite feel like Christmas, Christmas trees are already for sale on Market Street near Martin Luther King Boulevard.

Sunnyside Trees sells trees from five feet to fourteen feet tall. They start around 25 dollars. The trees, called Fraser firs, were grown in Jefferson, North Carolina. Sunnyside trees owner Larry Elliott reveals his secret to growing plump and healthy Christmas trees.

“I’ve been growing trees for about 30 years, and you have to pray with them, and sing to them, talk to them, and sometimes get a little aggravated with them, but anyway, we plant the trees, and we get a lot of credit for growing them,” said Elliott.

This is Sunnyside’s first time selling trees in Wilmington. The guys are camping out for the next month until they’re all gone. They have all the supplies to get you home with a good tree.
