Yorkey, popular local Methodist minister, dies after long cancer battle

Funeral services are planned Friday for the Rev. Camille O. Yorkey, a United Methodist minister who founded two Southeastern North Carolina churches and served as a volunteer chaplain at Ground Zero in New York after Sept. 11, 2001.Yorkey, 64, died Sunday in Chapel Hill after a decade-long battle with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
