Wave Transit bus strikes moped driver at UNCW

A man driving a moped was rushed to the hospital Saturday night after being struck by a Wave Transit bus on the University of North Carolina Wilmington campus.The accident happened about 8:30 p.m. on Hurst Drive near Wagoner Drive.

Assault victim’s brother thanks Wrightsville Beach

N.C. orthodontist paying kids to turn in Halloween candy

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - A North Carolina orthodontist is offering to pay trick-or-treaters to fork over their candy.The News & Observer of Raleigh reports that Dr. Jason Gladwell of Wake Forest will pay children $1 per pound of candy they bring into his office. Children can make the swap on Monday and Wednesday.
