Lejeune Marines participate in Adrenalin Rush
CAMP LEJEUNE, NC (AP) — A new program will help Camp Lejeune Marines adjust to life at home after the stress of a combat zone with excursions such as whitewater rafting trips.
The Daily News of Jacksonville reports that the first Camp Lejeune Marines will participate in Operation Adrenaline Rush Thursday. The program allows Marines returning from deployment to spend a day away from the base and bond with their colleagues in extreme sports and outdoor excursions.
It’s modeled after the Army’s “Adventure Quest.”
Adrenaline Rush began at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma earlier this summer. Marine Corps Community Services staff said the program is set to make its East Coast debut at Camp Lejeune.
Officials say the trips are supposed to get Marines’ hearts racing in a safe and productive way.
