Strickland reaches plea deal, staying in jail
TABOR CITY, NC (WWAY) — Allen “Frog” Strickland will be staying in jail a few more months after pleading guilty Friday to charges stemming from an incident at the home of former state Sen. R.C. Soles earlier this year.
Under the deal, Strickland receives a sentence of 240 days in jail. He gets credit for 25 days already served.
Strickland made the deal the day his case was supposed to go to trial. The prosecution’s witness list included Soles, who had spoken on the teen’s behalf at a bond hearing last month.
We have a crew at the courthouse in Tabor City. We’ll have more information later on WWAY NewsChannel 3 at 5 p.m. and here on wwaytv3.com
