We Sea Change local student video premiers

WILMINGTON NC (WWAY) — Wilmington is used to some pretty big film premiers and this one We Sea Change, had all of the excitement of a Hollywood blockbuster.

The locally made video on climate change by four students from Isaac Bear Early College opened Wednesday night at the Fort Fisher Aquarium, a venue better known for fish than films.

The students describe a process that taught them a lot about the environment and they were able to convey what they learned in a simple message.

Dustin Chambers is one of the team and he says you don’t have to start big to be effective. “For me its just doing the small things, small things add up. You talk about climate change and people get scared and they don’t want to change their whole life to make a change. Things like using reusable bags, and doing beach sweeps and setting your thermostat. The small things add up and they really make a difference”.

The crowed loved the video and the young environmentalists held a question and answer session. There is already talk of more showings. The crew of We Sea Change has a curriculum for use in schools and more. For information check out the web site.WE SEA CHANGE
