Poplar Grove takes a look back at education
Kids, imagine not having to catch the bus and go to school every day. Instead, the teacher would come move in with you and your parents during the school year.It was often like that for wealthy people in the 1800s, when there was not a formal education program in the North Carolina. Throughout October, Poplar Grove Plantation is offering the School Days tour, which tells of how aristocrats were educated in the American South prior to the Civil War.
