New Hanover county commissioners vote to approve resolution to rebuild rails between Castle Hayne and Wallace
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A few big issues were on the agenda at the New Hanover county commissioners’ meeting Monday night.
Commissioners voted three to two to table a vote on purchasing the property that houses Break Time and Ten Pin Alley in Wilmington. The property is a part of the same shopping center as the county’s government complex.
Commissioners voted unanimously to approve a resolution asking the state to rebuild a 27-mile stretch between Castle Hayne and Wallace.
The Transportation Advisory Committee is the regional group pushing to expand rail service in the area.
The cost for the project is not yet known. The project would be a long process, taking possibly 10 or 15 years.
