Summit will look at western NC economy
ASHEVILLE, NC (AP) — About 300 entrepreneurs, investors, economic developers, elected officials and others are expected to attend a summit about the best way for government leaders to work with businesses to improve the western North Carolina economy.
The Asheville Citizen-Times reports that the third annual AdvantageWest Economic Summit is being held Monday at the Diana Wortham Theatre in Asheville.
A panel discussion planned for Monday evening features Sens. Tom Apodaca and Martin Nesbitt. Also expected to appear are John Bardo, former chancellor of Western Carolina University, and Larry Blythe, vice chief of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.
