STORMTRACK 3: Tornado Watch in effect
SOUTHEASTERN NC (WWAY)– A Tornado Watch is in effect for part of southeastern NC, and may be expanded to the coast later tonight. An approaching storm system will bring a cold front into the Carolinas late tonight. Warm, unstable conditions will help to fuel showers/thunderstorm development ahead of the front. Any storms that develop this evening have the potential to become severe, especially between the hours of 8 PM and 4 AM. Isolated tornadoes are possible.
A few showers may linger through mid-day Thursday, but dry (and chilly) weather is expected by Friday.
You can always see the latest watches/warnings from WWAY on Facebook and Twitter.
