Students board ‘Mayflower’ for Thanksgiving lesson
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Some young explorers boarded the “Mayflower” for an early Thanksgiving. Instead of being made of wood and floating, the ship was a bit more modern.
The students and families of Children’s Christian Academy climbed aboard a Mayflower moving van to grab a nice Thanksgiving lunch.
Children dressed up as pilgrims and Native Americans as they ate turkey and celebrated Thanksgiving.
Among the lessons for the students was that the first Thanksgiving feast in 1621 lasted three days, providing enough food for 13 pilgrims and 90 Native Americans.
