STORMTRACK 3: Frigid temperatures arrive tonight, snowflake possible
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — An Arctic air mass will push into the Carolinas late tonight, bringing the coldest air of the winter (so far). Expect overnight lows in the 20’s. Moisture will be limited, especially near the surface. However, a few snowflakes are still possible late tonight. No major accumulation is expected.
Skies will clear Tuesday, but temperatures will struggle to reach 40. Breezy NW winds will gust over 30 mph at times near the coast, where a Gale Warning is in effect.
Warmer temperatures will arrive by the end of the week.
