Police call off search for suspect wanted by FBI Task Force

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Multiple police agencies have called off the search for a suspect after he was involved in a hit and run and chase.

State troopers, Wilmington Police and Pender County Sheriff’s deputies were on the search Wednesday afternoon for Donald-Ray Edtuan Davis.

The FBI Safe Streets Task Force was attempting to arrest Davis in Wilmington when he wrecked into a police unit and led police on a chase, striking two more vehicles.

Sgt. Matt Hardee, with Highway Patrol, says when Davis hit the last car at Highway 17 and Country Club Road in Pender County, he fled on foot.

The search was called off after a K-9 unit and the Sable helicopter lost track of Davis.

Sgt. Hardee says Davis has a criminal record. Davis is described as a black male, about 6’0″ tall and last seen wearing a black hoodie. If you have any information, call 911.
