Goodwill offers free tax assistance in NC
CHARLOTTE, NC (AP) — Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont is offering income tax assistance to those who qualify in the Charlotte area.
Goodwill is offering the volunteer income tax assistance from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday by appointment only and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays for walk-ins. The tax season ends April 17. The Internal Revenue Service and the Family Financial Literacy Coalition are working with Goodwill on the service, which is available at Goodwill’s career development center at 2122 Freedom Drive in Charlotte.
Goodwill also is holding events Jan. 28 and Feb. 4 to educate taxpayers about the earned income tax credit. The Jan. 28 event is open to all taxpayers, while the Feb. 4 event is open to veterans and their families.
