UPDATE: Missing Pender Co. girl spotted in park

UPDATE FROM PENDER COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE: In reference to the runaway juvenile from Pender County Rebecca Hewett. Today the Sheriff’s Office has obtained information through interviews and calls from citizens in the Castle Hayne area that Rebecca Hewett was seen at the New Hanover County park located on Parmale Rd. in Castle Hayne yesterday. Rebecca was seen in the park between the hours of 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. Hewett was asking individuals in the area for a ride. The Sheriff’s office is asking that citizens that may have had contact with anyone fitting her description to please contact the Pender County Sheriff’s Office at (910) 259-1212.


PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Pender County Sheriff’s Office is asking for your help in locating a missing 17-year-old girl.

Rebecca Hewett was last seen around 3p.m. at Heide Trask High School on Tuesday. She was last seen wearing a blue Heide Trask High School hoodie, blue jeans and blue Etnies shoes. She is 5’5″ with sandy brown hair and blue eyes. The family believes she may have left with a friend after school.
