Hoggard assistant football coach arrested after incident at school
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — An assistant football coach at Hoggard High School has been arrested after an incident at the school last week. The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office has charged Joseph Clinton Brown Jr. with five counts of simple assault and one count of assault with a deadly weapon.
Brown turned himself in late Wednesday night and was given a $60,000 unsecured bond. He was released under the condition that he have no contact with the victims in the case.
The school district suspended Brown a week ago with pay after the incident on campus. Brown has been employed with New Hanover County Schools since August 2006.
