Folks have a toe-tapping good time at Bluegrass fest
KURE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — Bluegrass music was born and raised in the south and is still making folks tap their toes today.
People of all ages enjoyed some tunes, food and shopping this weekend at the Pleasure Island Bluegrass by the River Festival. Organizers say it’s a family-friendly, one-stop shop for fun, and the view’s not bad either.
“I think it’s just a very unique style of music, and I think everybody is just intrigued by it,” Mike Worley of the Pleasure Island Chamber of Commerce said. “People want to come and see what it is all about.”
The line-up included bluegrass bands Mystery Hillbillies, South of K, Donna Hughes Band, Ted Jones and the Tarheel Boys, and Cumberland River.
