STORMTRACK 3: Rain is ending, but it remains gusty as Beryl pulls away.

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Beryl is beginning to exit the area and push offshore. The last of the rain is moving through Pender and New Hanover Counties and will be offshore by 4pm. The storm has already dropped anywhere from 2-4" of rain across the area. While the system was still classified a tropical depression at the 11am advisory, it will likely become a non-tropical system this afternoon.

There have been scattered reports of trees and power lines down throughout the area. This is largely due to the soaking rains followed by gusty winds in excess of 40 mph.

Here’s a look at your StormTrack 3 forecast:

  • This Afternoon: Rain pushing offshore. Winds remain gusty. Downed trees are possible. Temps in the mid/upper 70’s.
  • Tonight: Clearing skies. Lows in the mid 60’s. West winds at 5-10 mph.

Stay tuned to WWAY for updates, and head to Hurricanes 101.
