Carolina Beach town council developing plan in response to lease violation
CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — Town leaders discussed what to do about a lease violation for property owned by the US Army during its meeting Tuesday night.
The town has been using the area, off Dow road, for decades. The land currently houses the town’s operations department, including public works, and public utilities. The Army says the town has been using it for storage and that violates the lease.
Town council member, Bob Simpson, said leaders decided Tuesday night to hold a workshop on June 23rd. Simpson said that’s when town leaders will discuss a plan for the property.
