Dalton, McCrory face off for first time
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — North Carolina is just five months away from electing a new Governor, and both major-party candidates vying for the job are working hard to get your vote. Lt. Gov. Walter Dalton and former Charlotte Mayor Pat McCrory faced off in their first debate Saturday.
The men took the stage together at the Hilton in downtown Wilmington for an hour-long debate. The candidates delivered opening statements, answered questions from select members of the media, and then delivered closing statements. The North Carolina Bar Association hosted the debate at its annual convention.
Both Dalton and McCrory were questioned about how their plans differ from the current policies in place. Dalton is accused by many of being just like our current Governor Bev Perdue. McCrory was grilled about his friendships with and similarities to current members of the Legislature.
Both men said they have their own ideas on how to improve our state.
Tune in Sunday night at 6 p.m. to hear from both Dalton and McCrory and to see a recap of the debate.
