Trust fund set up for murdered delivery driver
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The family of Zhen Bo Liu has asked the law firm of Alley Register McEachern to receive donations for Liu’s widow to offset funeral and travel expenses.
Liu was murdered June 14 at the corner of 13th and Queen Streets in Wilmington while making a Chinese food delivery.
Police say 15-year-old Mustafaa Friend shot Liu in the foot and say 20-year-old Cornell Dwayne Haugabook Jr. shot him in the face. Both are charged with murder.
Investigators say they and four others also robbed Liu of $48 and took the food they ordered home and ate it after killing Liu.
Donations for Liu’s widow can be made at any of the 10 local Wells Fargo Branches. Any checks should be made payable to “Alley Register McEachern Trust Account FBO Zhen Bo Liu.”
Liu is also survived by an adult son Yu Lin.
There are funeral expenses and unexpected travel expenses which are expected to amount to about $10,000, which the family hopes to offset by donations.
