Man pleads guilty to indecent liberties with a minor
LELAND, NC (WWAY) — A Leland man has pleaded guilty to three counts of indecent liberties with a minor.
Corey Allen Sullivan, 24, pleaded guilty this week in Brunswick County Superior Court for incidents that occurred with a 14 year old girl from Leland in July of 2009. Statements from the District Attorney’s Office during the plea indicated that Sullivan provided the victim with alcohol and then engaged in sexual acts with her.
The victim told police that there were three different days when she and Sullivan met and engaged in these sexual acts. Sullivan confessed to police when they initially questioned him.
Sullivan was sentenced to an active prison term of 12 – 15 months. That active sentence will be followed by two additional 12 – 15 month sentences, which will be suspended for three years of probation.
Sullivan will now be required to complete sex offender treatment while he is in prison and to register as a sex offender for the next 30 years.
