Hoggard principal reportedly leaving for new job
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Hoggard High School’s principal has accepted a new job in Scotland County, according to a newspaper report. The Laurinburg Exchange reports the Scotland County School Board last night approved hiring Dr. Pam Baldwin as the county’s assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction.
Baldwin and a New Hanover County Schools spokeswoman have not yet returned calls to confirm the move.
Baldwin started as principal at Hoggard in spring 2011. She is the school’s first female principal.
Baldwin made history a few months earlier. In December 2010 she became one of the first African-Americans to earn a doctorate from UNCW.
