Two Fairmont High School grads killed in wreck
FAIRMONT, NC (AP) — Two former football players from Fairmont High School have been killed in a wreck south of town.
The NC Highway Patrol said 18-year-old Tyreke Addison of Lumberton and 18-year-old Nokolma Dakota Hunt of Fairmont were killed Monday night. The two were among five people riding in a 1994 Ford Thunderbird than ran off NC 41 and struck a tree around 9 p.m.
Addison also played on the school’s basketball and baseball teams.
A patrol report said neither Addison nor Hunt was wearing seat belts.
Authorities identified the driver of the car as 18-year-old Alex Gilchrist of Lake View, S.C., another former Fairmont football player. He and two other passengers were hospitalized.
