Domestic disturbance leads to knife injuries
BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A domestic disturbance led police to a home in Elizabethtown Wednesday evening. James Hunt and Erika Pearson both had minor knife injuries.
When officers arrived, Hunt had been cut with a knife on his back and chest area. The wounds were not deep and EMS personnel treated him at the scene. He refused transport to the hospital.
Pearson had a cut on her hand, which was also treated at the scene, and she also refused further medical treatment.
Pearson stated that when she attempted to leave after an argument, Hunt grabbed a bag from her shoulder, and she cut him with the knife.
Once Hunt was placed into the patrol vehicle for transport to the magistrate’s office, he began beating his head against the rear window, causing minor damage.
Pearson was charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury and she is currently in the Bladen County Jail under a $250,000 secured bond.
Hunt was charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury and injury to personal property and he is currently in the Bladen County Jail under a $25,000 secured bond.
