Duplin Co. teen profiled in ESPN ‘My Wish’ series
DUPLIN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Tonight ESPN profiles a Duplin County teen battling leukemia who got to met his hero.
Jesus Reyes, 14, is preparing to play football for East Duplin High School. He is also undergoing chemo treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia at Children’s Hospital at UNC Chapel Hill.
Recently he spent a day with his hero: New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez. Reyes also signed a “contract” to make him an honorary member of the Jets for the day.
Their story is part of ESPN’s “My Wish” series.
This is the seventh year in a row ESPN partnered with Make-A-Wish to grant children with life-threatening illnesses the chance to live out a sports dream.
