Two men charged with kidnapping, assaulting relative’s ex-boyfriend
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Two men are charged with kidnapping after allegedly attacking a relative’s ex-boyfriend.
The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to an apartment on Coddington Loop Road around 8:30 a.m. Sunday. They found Christian Holshouser with blood on him and with his hands cuffed behind his back with flex cuffs.
Holshouser told deputies his ex-girlfriend’s relatives had come to move her out of the apartment. Holshouser told them it was not a good time, and they would have to move her belongings out on another day. After an argument between him and the relatives, Holshouser went into the kitchen. That’s where investigators say James Emil Lionelle and Christopher Paul French began assaulting him by pushing, and holding him from behind his neck.
Deputies say Lionell and French flex cuffed Holshouser and drug him outside, where Holshouser broke free and ran up the stairs. They say Lionell followed him until a neighbor came out and said she was calling 911.
Deputies arrested Lionelle and French for 2nd Degree Kidnapping and Assault and Battery. Both have posted bond and are awaiting trial.
