Wrestlers support local girl’s fight against cancer

Hampstead, NC (WWAY) — A 12-year-old Hampstead girl is fighting for her life. Kimberly Batchelor has a rare form of cancer known as Leptomeningeal Oligodendrogliomatosis.

This disease causes cystic lesions to encase the neutral tissue of the brain and spine. Because only 30 Americans in the country have been diagnosed with this disease, there is no "stage" yet associated with it. 12-year-old Kimberly says she plans to be the first person to beat the rare disease.

Former WWE Wrestler Cueball Carmichael and Ring Announcer Jason Morgan sat down with Good Morning Carolina Anchor Ashley Jacobs to talk about an event happening Saturday night to raise money for Kimberly and her family. The event, appropriately titled, "Fighting for Kimberly" begins at 7pm August, 4, 2012, at Topsail Middle School.

Wrestlers will duke it out in the ring in hopes even more community members will join the popular fight to save Kimberly Batchelor. Watch the whole interview to hear why helping is so important to these two men.
