Rescue crews search for missing teen near Snow’s Cut
NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Rescue crews continue to search for a missing 13-year-old boy who was swimming near the Snow’s Cut area Sunday afternoon.
According to Sgt. Jerry Brewer with the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, the family of the boy said he was swimming with them one minute and gone the next. The boy’s father tried to find him but was unsuccessful. They called 911 around 1:40 p.m. Sunday.
Marine units and personnel from the Wilmington Fire Department, New Hanover County Fire Rescue, New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, Carolina Beach Police Department, United States Coast Guard, and the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission are on scene assisting in the search. New Hanover Regional’s helicopter, AIRLINK, is also on scene.
