Local group helps at-risk children with free performing and visual arts classes
WILMINGTON, NC (NEWS RELEASE) — DREAMS of Wilmington invites everyone to mark your calendars for October 13, 2012, when their annual gala, DREAMS Presents: Let’s Get It Started!, will be held at the Hilton Wilmington Riverside. DREAMS is an organization that builds creative, productive citizens one at-risk child at a time through high-quality, free of charge classes in the literary, performing and visual arts. The evening will begin at 6 pm and will include dining, an art gallery, student performances and visual art exhibits, a live auction, and dance party.
“Everything about the evening will be fun and inspirational,” said Tracy Wilkes, Founder and Executive Director. “Our kids are absolutely amazing, and their performances always bring the house down.”
DREAMS’ teaching artists are among the best in the region, and they’ve graciously agreed to offer some of their best work at a reasonable price. Proceeds from the art sale will be shared evenly between the artists and DREAMS. There will be a delectable buffet dinner, impeccable wine and decadent dessert. The live auction will feature some exciting surprises, and they’ll cap off the evening on the dance floor.
There are still sponsorship opportunities available. For information please call Kim Gargiulo, DREAMS board member, at 910.962.2587. Individual tickets are $75.
