“Isaac” forms; Heading westward into Caribbean
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — "Isaac" has formed east of the Windward Islands. The storm is expected to strengthen over the coming days and head west.
If it does strengthen as expected, Tropical Storm Isaac will push through the Leeward Islands Wednesday and then enter the Caribbean Sea. Right now, it looks like conditions are favorable for strengthening there, and Isaac could become a hurricane later this week
As the storm continues to head west in the Caribbean Sea, we will need to watch it’s progress very closely. Early indications from computer models and weather patterns show that this storm should turn northward. Where the storm will ultimately end up remains to be seen and is too uncertain this far out.
As we enter the heart of hurricane season, now is the time to re-visit your hurricane plan and make sure you have all the supplies you and your family need to get through a storm.
As always you can get up to the minute updates from the StormTrack 3 Weather Team at Hurricanes 101.
