Board of Education gives Superintendent an A-
BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Brunswick County Board of Education gave Superintendent Edward Pruden the nod of approval during his annual evaluation by offering him a 2-year contract extension.
Based on the evaluation of 21 competency goals within the new North Carolina Standards for Superintendents, the Board’s overall opinion of Pruden’s work was an A-.
School Board Chairwoman Shirley Babson said, “We applaud the work you have done and admire the work you have done. Our schools have grown significantly. Graduation rates have never been higher and the dropout rate is steadily decreasing. We have a new website and are sharing more information. People are responding.”
Board member Charles Miller congratulated Pruden on his contract extension and stated, “We look forward to the next four years of working together.”
Pruden expressed appreciation of the Board’s evaluation. “I am humbled by the Board’s support and vote of confidence. They are great partners in our work,” he said.
