Isaac pushing through Caribbean, Florida residents on guard
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Isaac continues to struggle. The system is large, but the circulation center has been hard to detect. Conditions favor limited strengthening, as Isaac will interact with Haiti later this week.
The system will likely pass through or near southern Florida Sunday or Monday. From there, most computer models bring the system toward the Florida pan-handle. The system will weaken over land, but could bring rain/severe thunderstorms to many southern states next week.
A Gulf Stream IV Jet from NOAA will provide new data later Thursday evening which could potentially alter the forecast projections, so residents of the Gulf Coast and southeast US coast should still monitor closely for any changes.
