Isaac is intensifying; still on track toward the Gulf
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Isaac has improved it’s structure and has intensified this morning. The center of the storm should start to push through the western edge of Haiti tonight.
The system will likely pass right around the southern tip of Florida Sunday night into Monday. From there, most computer models bring the system toward the Florida pan-handle and central Gulf Coast. The system will weaken over land, but could then turn our way bringing the remnant effects of the storm to North Carolina.
For us, we expect absolutely no effects from the storm this weekend. By Tuesday of next week, we stand the chance of seeing some remnant rain and wind from the system. This will of course depend on where Isaac makes landfall and how it turns afterwards.
