Isaac moving over Cuba, headed for Florida next
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Issac will hit Cuba Saturday, and affect southern Florida by early Monday. From there, the storm will likley approach the Florida panhandle early Tuesday. Once the system moves inland over Florida, weakening is expected.
We don’t expect any storm effects locally this weekend. The "left-over" rain from Isaac will likely head toward the Carolinas by the middle of next week.
Parts of southeastern NC have already experienced high rain totals from an unrelated system over the past few days. Any additional rain from Isaac could lead to flooding problems. There will also be a slight chance of isolated tornadoes in North Carolina by mid-week.
