Bryant trial continues in Brunswick County

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Testimony continued today in the trial of a man accused of killing a Brunswick County realtor after what prosecutors say was a real estate deal gone wrong.

Bryant is accused of killing Shallotte real estate agent Adam Bradshaw. Bradshaw’s body was found in a shallow grave at the end of Watt Road in Ocean Isle in April 2008.

Tuesday, investigators from the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office and the State Bureau of Investigation testified about what they found when they responded to the rural road. Detectives explained in detail what was done with a shotgun and other evidence collected from five different crime scenes, including where the body was found, a home nearby, and vehicles that may have been involved in the incident.

Investigators say the shotgun, believed to be the murder weapon, was not dusted for fingerprints when it was entered into evidence and was handled by officers and detectives without gloves. A detective said the gun was not investigated more because it is very difficult to remove fingerprints that are usable for evidence from the gun.

Jurors were also shown graphic images of the crime scene, including close-ups of Bradshaw’s body buried under debris.

Bryant’s girlfriend at the time of the murder, Lora Moultrie, was scheduled to testify Tuesday, but time ran out before she could take the stand. District Attorney Jon David says he expects Moultrie to testify Wednesday.

Moultrie pleaded guilty to second-degree murder last year in connection to Bradshaw’s death. Prosecutors believe she will be a key witness in this case.
