Last weekend for Marcy Cuevas
This is Marcy Cuevas’s last weekend here at WWAY. She’s decided that she’s had enough of us crazy news people and will be spending more time with her beautiful three children.
Marcy became one of our rare, young “old-timers.” She started working here back in 1999, and has done just about every job we have – reporter, producer, anchor, photographer, editor, therapist, the list goes on and on.
Not only is she a solid anchor, she’s a great story-teller. Honestly, one of the best I’ve ever worked with. She’ll get her story assignment in the morning, and you never hear back from her, because she’s gettin’ it done – and she’ll come back with great work.
We’re going to miss her a lot. Marcy has a great sense of humor, which you don’t always see on TV. She can come up with a zinger that’ll have the whole newsroom laughing for hours. We’re also losing one someone with great instiutional knowledge of Wilmington and the Cape Fear. That’s going to be hard to replace.
Marcy – we wish you well.
