Red Cross looking for ‘Holiday Mail for Heroes’

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The American Red Cross is getting in the Christmas spirit for the military.

Instead of sending a letter to Santa, why not send one to a soldier.

The Red Cross is encouraging people across the country to send words of encouragement, gratitude and cheer to members of our military this holiday season to show them who our true heroes are.

“Obviously we have so many men and women in uniform. So many families in our communities are affected. So many families in our communities have loved ones who are who are serving overseas. It’s an opportunity for us to show how much we care,” Bill Brent of the Red Cross said.

Over the past three years, the Red Cross has received and distributed more than 4.7 million cards to our armed forces through the Holiday Mail for Heroes project.

You can send your message until December 7 by mailing them to:
Holiday Mail for Heroes
PO Box 5456
Capitol Heights, MD 20791-5456
