Brunswick County swears in new commissioners, says goodbye to two.
BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Tis the season for changes and there are two new faces on the Brunswick County Board of Commissioners, Frank Williams and Pat Sykes were sworn in tonight.
One man said goodbye after nearly two decades of service.
“18 years, I had one 2 year term and four, four year terms.” Bill Sue told WWAY. Bill saw Brunswick County through some fast times. “Third fastest growing county in North Carolina during the boom and now I think we’re about 17 or 18. We were about 14 in the whole country, so there has been a whole lot of growth in my tenure.”
Bill credits county manager Marty Lawing and the staff for their help to the commission. And advises new commissions to let them do their job. He leaves with good wishes for the county
“Well I just hope the good Lord blesses all of us here in Brunswick County and that in the future we can have some more growth again and at the same time protect our quality of life here in Brunswick County.” Sue said.
The other departing commissioner is Charles Warren. We reached out to him for a statement. Warren congratulated the board and wished them well in serving Brunswick County.
