Woman killed in DWI wreck remembered as godly and resilient
LELAND, NC (WWAY) — Martha Mintz died Friday afternoon in a wreck on Highway 74/76 near the Brunswick Columbus county line. Investigators say Pierre Walker was under the influence when he hit and killed her.
Mintz is being remember by her family as a loving, caring wife, mother and grandmother.
Here is her obituary, posted on the Andrews Mortuary website:
Martha Potter Mintz, 61, of Leland, died Friday, February 22, 2013, in Columbus County.
Martha was born March 29, 1951 in Wilmington, NC, a daughter of the late Ressie Potter and Margaret Mintz Potter.
Martha graduated from Leland High School in 1969 and married Marvin Mintz in July. Mama and daddy shared a love that most long for. This precious gift they shared continued throughout the childhood of their three children. The well-being of her husband, children, and grandchildren was the focus of her existence.
Our mom was the most amazing woman and was taken from us so tragically and so unfairly. She was a wonderful and godly woman who put everyone else first in her life and found happiness in their joy. Mama loved the Lord and her faith was displayed daily in her interactions with others and will resonate for years to come by those who knew her. We are so blessed to have received the gifts of love, humility, resilience, and forgiveness that she gave to us. She will be terribly missed but comfort and grace will be ours by knowing she is home with her Lord and watching over us all.
