FIRST ON 3: Investigators say Pender Co. deputy was drunk before wrecking car
ONSLOW COUNTY, NC (NEWS RELEASE) — This morning, local law enforcement dispatch centers began receiving calls in reference to a Pender County Sheriff’s Office patrol car operating in an unsafe manner on HWY 17.
While attempting to locate the deputy, the North Carolina Highway Patrol contacted the Pender County Sheriff’s Office in reference to a trooper responding to a motor vehicle incident with a Pender County Vehicle.
Upon the investigation by the Onslow County Section of the Highway Patrol, William Paluck was charged with DWI, failure to reduce speed to avoid colliding with a vehicle, and reckless driving. Paluck was given a court date of September 18, 2013 at the Onslow County Courthouse. Any further questions pertaining to the motor vehicle collision need to be directed to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
William Paluck was hired with the Pender County Sheriff’s Office on 12-14-2009 and was the School Resource Officer at Topsail Middle School. Paluck was notified that his services were terminated with the Sheriff’s Office as a result of this incident.
