StarNews: Teacher transferred after filing grievance against principal
WILMINGTON, NC (StarNews) — A teacher who filed a grievance against New Hanover High School Principal Todd Finn will be at a different school in the county starting Wednesday, according to the school district.
Beth Brown, who had taught English as a second language classes at New Hanover High School since 2006, was transferred to Castle Hayne Elementary School to teach ESL classes there, said Wayne Bullard, attorney for New Hanover County Schools.
Bullard wouldn’t comment on the reason for the transfer since it was a personnel matter. Brown also would not comment on the transfer.
Brown emailed her 42-page grievance and supporting documents to members of the school board Thursday. The information in the grievance falls between Sept. 12, 2012, and March 22, 2013. Finn became principal at New Hanover High in August 2011.
