NC woman accused of crashing car into day care
LINCOLNTON, N.C. (AP) – Authorities in Lincoln County have accused a woman with assault with deadly weapon after they say she drove her car into the front door of a day care center where she used to work.
The sheriff’s office said 60-year-old Amy Susan Fier rammed her car into the double metal and glass front doors of the Denver day care as several children stood in the lobby. None of the children were hurt.
Fier had recently been fired from the day care but.
About 30 minutes before Tuesday’s incident, deputies responded to the day care for a disturbance call involving Fier.
Fier is also facing charges of second-degree trespassing, communicating threats and injury to real property. She was released from jail after posting $8,000 bond, and couldn’t be reached for comment Wednesday.
