ONLY ON 3: Office of Management and Budget ‘too busy’ to explain why it moved Brunswick Co. to Myrtle Beach MSA
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Federal Office of Management and Budget refuses to explain why it moved Brunswick County into the Myrtle Beach Metropolitan Statistical Area.
After requesting an interview or answers to emailed questions on Wednesday, April 17, Ari Issacman Astles at the OMB emailed back today, “Thanks for your query. Due to scheduling constraints, we are unable to accommodate an interview.”
After requesting an interview Astles told us we would need to email in our questions and they would provide a statement. We did, but we got nothing back.
Many in Wilmington, New Hanover County and Brunswick County feel moving Brunswick into the Myrtle Beach MSA will hurt recruiting efforts.
Politicians from all those areas, including Congressman Mike McIntyre and Sentor Kay Hagan have either signed or approved resolutions asking OMB and the census not to make the move.
If you would like to try your hand at getting an answer, you can email Ari at Ari_I_Astles@omb.eop.gov.
