DA: Pleas to end two Pender Co. murder cases
PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The district attorney says a pair of Pender County murder cases should be closed this afternoon, when the suspects return to court.
Ben David’s office says resolutions are set for today for the first-degree murder charges against Michael Grant and James Gorby.
Grant is charged in the August 31, 2011, shooting death of his neighbor Anthony Wayne Edens. It happened in the Summit Ridge neighborhood in Rocky Point.
Gorby is accused of shooting and killing his stepfather Roger Mock on September 28, 2011, in Hampstead. Gorby was also charged at the time with breaking and entering and larceny, larceny of a motor vehicle, two counts of possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of stolen property.
