Hagan says VA claims backlog ‘unacceptable’
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Sen. Kay Hagan was among the dignitaries at today’s ribbon cutting for the new VA superclinic in Wilmington.
Hagan (D-NC) has been helping push for changes in the VA. Among her efforts, she has joined 66 of her Senate colleagues in asking President Obama to end a backlog of hundreds of thousands of VA disability claims.
“These are men and women who have served us, and for them to have to wait more than a year, sometimes two years to get an answer to their request, that’s totally unacceptable,” Hagan said.
Hagan says veterans issues are about more than just policy. She says we must do everything within our power to protect the promises we have made to our veterans and their families.
